EHS Consultant: Mission-Critical & Data Center Specialists (Traveling)

We are looking for a dedicated EHS Consultant to join our team. This is a travel-based position designed for a high-performing safety professional who thrives on overseeing excellence across high-complexity data center projects nationwide.

Key Responsibilities

As an EHS Consultant, you are the frontline defender of our "Culture of Care." Your mission is to ensure the safety of employees, trade partners, and the public on world-class projects.

• Site Inspections & Audits: Conduct daily and weekly site safety walks to identify hazards specific to data centers.

• Project Management Integration: Utilize platforms such as Procore, among others, that are job site specific, to manage safety documentation, track observations, and streamline communication between stakeholders.

• Crane & Vertical Integration Safety: Evaluate and approve Job Hazard Analyses (JHA) and Pre-Task Plans (PTP) for high-risk activities, specifically focusing on heavy crane lifts, rigging integrity, and structural sets.

• Risk Mitigation: Lead the oversight of electrical commissioning and other high-risk mission-critical tasks.

• Incident Management: Lead root-cause investigations and implement corrective action plans.

• Training: Facilitate site-specific safety orientations and toolbox talks for subcontractors.

Qualification Requirements

We have tiered our requirements to find the best talent. Candidates must meet the Minimum requirements to be considered, but those with High Qualifications will be prioritized.

1. Minimum Requirements

• Travel Capability: Ability and willingness to travel extensively to project sites as required by the business.

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or Engineering.

• Experience: 4+ years of relevant construction safety experience (or a combination of degree and demonstrated trade experience).

• Certification: CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician) in good standing.

• Technical Knowledge: Proof of training and experience in managing crane, fall protection, excavation, scaffolds, and heavy equipment safety.

2. High-Level Qualifications (Prioritized)

We are actively seeking "Gold Standard" professionals who possess:

• Advanced Certifications: CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist).

• Specialized Training: NFPA 70E (Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace) certification and EM 385-1-1.

• Data Center Specifics: Familiarity with the Data Center Safety Awareness Certificate (DCSC) or Uptime Institute standards.

• Advanced Tech Skills: Power-user proficiency in Procore (specifically the Inspections, Observations, and Incidents modules).

Performance Expectations & Environment

This is a demanding, high-performance environment for those who thrive under pressure and are committed to achieving exceptional results.

• Physical Demands: This is an active role requiring frequent navigation of jobsites (stairs, ladders, hoists) and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

• Influence: Ability to communicate effectively with, persuade, and gain buy-in from everyone from a new craft worker to a senior executive leader.

• Commitment: Flexibility to work extended hours during critical project phases and respond to time-sensitive matters or emergencies as they arise. Your ability to be responsive when critical issues occur is key to our collective success.

• Adaptability: As a traveling consultant, you must be comfortable adapting to different regional regulations and diverse jobsite cultures quickly.
